Chattisgarh UMPP: PFC extends deadline for bids
The last date for submission of RFQs for Chhattisgrah ultra mega power project (UMPP) has been extended by PFC to 5 July from 3 May, 2010. The bidding date has been extended to get more clarity on allocation of captive coal block attached with the Chhattisgarh UMPP. The two coal blocks – Pindarakhi and Puta Parogia – allocated by ministry of coal in 2009 for Chhattisgarh project fall in densely forested Hasdeo Arand coal fields area. This has been identified as a clear no-go area for mining purposes. A lot of domestic as well as international companies including companies including L&T, NTPC, Tata Power, Sterlite Industries, Jindal Steel & Power, Essar Power, GVK Power & Infrastructure, AES Power, Lanco Infratech, Dian Wijaya (Malaysia), Torrent Power and Citra are keen on the project.
