Country’s largest power producer NTPC is making foray in to oil exploration and production business. It signed production sharing contract for the block in the cambay basin.  The block was awarded to the NTPC in the eighth round of NELP.

The NTPC owns a 100 per cent interest interest in this onland block in cambay besin.  Besides this it also owns 10 per cent stake in other regions with other government owned companies.
