NTPC to borrow Rs 12,800 crore this year
National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) proposes to borrow Rs 12,800 crore for its capacity addition programme during the financial year 2010-11. Out of the total proposed borrowing of Rs 12,818 crore, the compnay plans to borrow Rs 9,800 crore from domestic sources and the balance Rs 2,958 crore from international sources. The total requirement from domestic sources has already been tied up by the company. This information was given by Bharatsinh Solanki, minister of state for power in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
NTPC has informed the BSE that a meeting of its board of directors will be held on 17 May to approve the annual financial results for the financial year ending on 31 March, 2010. After these results are reviewed the board will also consider a recommendation of final dividend.
