R-Power to scale down Dadri project
Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) company Reliance Power (R-Power) may substantially scale down plans for 7,480 Mw gas based power project at Dadri. Instead company is looking for setting up projects of 8,000 Mw capacity at two or more locations.
The Dadari project which was touted as the world’s single largest gas based project. However apart from availability of gas, project is also facing challenges regarding land acquisition.
Post the Supreme Court judgement; various state governments have evinced interest in R-Power’s gas-based power project. “currently, we are examining all options, including Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat, keeping in mind over 3.5 million shareholders’ interest,” said R-Power spokesperson.
Instead of the proposed 7,480 mw gas-based Dadri project (the largest plant in the world at a single site), R-Power is looking at multiple locations with relatively smaller capacities at various locations for strategic reasons said, industry experts.
The Western and southern regions reels under acute power shortage. Also there is no significant capacity addition in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharastra. So tariff in a competitive bidding are expected to be high in these regions.
These states have no coal reserves and but they are on the east-west pipeline corridor, so gas-fired projects are most suitable option for these states, expert pointed out. The Economic Times

Dear ANILJI
IF WE CONSIDER TOTAL ENERGY ,PROPER UTILISATION OF GAS FIRED BOILERS ARE NOT THE THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION. MOJORITY OF ITS ENTHALPY (DQ)AND ENTROPY(INTEGRAL DT/S)ARE BEING WASTED BY CRACKING THE BASIC GAS ENERGY IN ADDITION TO ITS POLLUTION PROBLEM ,THOUGH. INSTEAD IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER UTISISED IN FERTILISER INDUSTRY.SO FAR POWER DEMAND OF THE COUNTRY IS CONCERNED WE HAVE TO THINK OF COAL BASED POWERSTATION INTEGRATED WITH COAL MINING BECAUSE WE HAVE HUGE QUANTITY COAL RESERVE IN OUR COUNTRY BUT WE ARE LACKING IN MINING AND COAL HANDLING PLANT OPERATION AND ITS MAINTENANCE ,BECAUSE VERY HIGH CALIBER QUALITY ENGINEERS ARE NOT WILLING THIS KIND OF JOB DUE TO VERY OVIOUS REASON OF NATURE OF JOB WITH THE MORE OR LESS SAME PAY PACKET AND ALSO THEY GET FILL ISOLATED AND FRUSTRATED DUE TO NOT GETING PROPER ATTENTION IMPORTANCE IN THEIR DAILY SOCIAL LIFE AS WELL AS AT THE TIME OF ANNUAL APPRISAL OR PROMOTIONBY THEIR CORPORATION.
ALSO WE CAN THINK OF ALTERNATE SOURCE OF ENERGY WHICH IS NATURE FRINDLY LIKE WIND POWER , SOLAR POWER TIDAL POWER CAN BE EXPLORED THROUGH THE COASTAL BELT OF INDIA WHICH IS TWO/THIRD OF OUR COUNTRY’S PERIMETER. INDIA IS A NATURALLY CULTIVATED COUNTRY AND HAVING VERY HIGH POTENTIAL OF BIO MAS GAS PLANT.WE CAN ALSO THINK OF DRIVING OUR VEHICLE ON DUAL MODE OF ENERGY OPERATION LIKE WITH BOTH BY SOLAR POWER BY REDESIGNING OF OUR ALL TYPES OF MOTORVEHICLES WITH HIGHPOWERED SOLAR CELL ,EMBEDDING ON THE VEHICLES OUTER SURFACE ASWELL AS EITHER OF LIQUID/GAS FUEL. ALSO BY BY EXTRACTING WASTE HEAT RECOVERY FROM ALL TYPES OF EMMISSIONS FROM ALLTYPES OF INDUSTRY BY IMPOSING STRIGENT REGULATION WHICH HAS ALSO BEARING ON ONE OF THE CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARNING.

It does not make any sense on the response provided by Nataraj Saha of NTPC. He calls himself AGM Technical Services and is totally bankrupt of any technical know=how or knowledge. No wonder NTPC is going down on its technical superiority having such people.
