Sujana Energy enters in partnership with Nichia corp Japan

Hydrabad based Sujana Energy Limited (SE) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Nichia Corporation of Japan  to explore opportunities in the field of LED lighting and display in India.

As part of the partnership, the two companies will collaborate capabilities that can be applied to benefit the power deficit India.  LED lighting is the most energy efficient means of lighting and saves 50 per cent saving in power costs for the same level of luminous efficiency and works well with renewable energy sources like solar power.

This I am sure will go a long way in lighting up the World”.

Nichia Corporation is the largest supplier of white LEDs in the world.  It offers many products and technologies that can be adapted to Indian conditions, while Sujana Energy is strong in R&D and has the understanding of the unique needs of India, the two companies make for an ideal partnership to develop and joint market products that are designed for use in homes and offices as well as public conveniences. Under the Solar Mission itself the government plans to convert 60 Indian cities to total solar powered cities, making for an opportunity of almost Rs 1800 million for LED lighting equipment alone.  

“The current Strategic Partnership on LED lighting and display formalises a long-term relationship between SE and Nichia Corp. And aim to develop unique solutions for customers across the country.  Although competition is extremely high in Indian market, I believe, this collaboration between Sujana and Nichia will be a breakthrough,” said Makoto Takenaka, managing director of Nichia Chemical Pte Ltd.
